Clean surfaces
LABS-free (PWIS-free)
A clean surface for seamless adhesive layers.
Substances that interfere with the lacquering process - LABS for short in German or PWIS for paint-wetting impairment substances - can cause coating defects on a surface and impair the quality of an applied adhesive layer.
In order to seal our LED luminaires against external influences and thus immunise them against oils or coolants, the high-quality seals must be bonded cleanly. In order to achieve a good, complete adhesive coating, it is extremely important to prepare the surfaces of the components in such a way that they are clean, dry, free of oil and silicone, and deep-pore cleaning of other contaminating substances – i.e. LABS-free – so that no impurities occur in the adhesive layer. In addition to cleaning all relevant surfaces before bonding the seals, we also rely on LABS-compliant production areas.
