Trumpf Supplier Award
An outstanding milestone in a long-term partnership
LED2WORK receives the prestigious Supplier Award from TRUMPF, the global market leader in machine tools and industrial laser technology, recognizing many years of reliability and quality.
In 2023, planning for an own presence in the USA gets underway, and just six months later LED2WORK opens a subsidiary in Chicago.
Alongside Europe, the North American market is one of the most important worldwide, and having a local presence enables much closer customer support. With LED2WORK Inc., LED2WORK improves product availability and provides customers in North America with exceptionally fast and direct support.
LED2WORK continuously drives development in the market for industrial LED luminaires with numerous new product innovations.
In 2021, the company’s in-house development of IO-Link peripherals reaches market maturity, and in 2022 LED2WORK equips the TUBELED_25 RGB-W with integrated IO-Link functionality.
The slim RGB-W luminaire becomes the first LED machine light available on the market with a high protection rating and full IO-Link support. This enables not only the control of light colors and brightness, but also parameter configuration as well as the use of process and diagnostic data for lighting control.
LED2WORK now employs around 60 people and achieves annual revenue of ten million euros. The export share exceeds the twenty percent mark for the first time.
Jan Schiga receives the Pforzheim Business Award for LED2WORK in the category “Innovation and Idea”.
Already in the previous year, the growing company secured a place on the Financial Times list “FT 1000 Europe’s Fastest Growing Companies”.
Since 2017, LED2WORK has also been included almost every year in the list of growth champions published by FOCUS BUSINESS.
10 years of LED2WORK!
On the way there, the company experiences above-average growth, demonstrating that durable and energy-efficient LED industrial luminaires for machines, systems and workstations perfectly meet both the spirit of the times and customer demand.
To accommodate this growth, LED2WORK relocates to its current site, offering significantly larger production, office and warehouse space that can be expanded as needed.
This period also marks the development of the company’s first in-house signal light. A LED machine-mounted luminaire with RGB technology is created, making machine statuses clearly visible from a distance and ideally suited for automation and logistics.
A management buy-out brings fresh momentum to the company
Jan Schiga, at that time Head of Sales and a key driving force, takes over the company in June 2012. LED2WORK becomes a family-owned business that not only trades, but also develops and manufactures. At this point, LED2WORK has five employees and generates annual revenue of 1.2 million euros.
At the same time, the young company relocates to a new site offering more space for production, offices, and warehousing. During this phase, the first system luminaire with LED technology for direct AC connection is developed. It is presented in October 2012 at the trade fair in Stuttgart, together with a Bosch Rexroth sales partner.
LED2WORK then experiences significant growth and multiplies its revenue. At the same time, it becomes clear that the new premises are already too small again after just over a year.
With the TUBELED_70, LED2WORK develops the first LED machine tube light available on the market with a high protection rating and a diameter of 70 millimetres.
The trigger was a major customer who complained about high maintenance costs associated with existing protective tube lights. The new robust and long-lasting luminaire is ideally suited for retrofitting in machine tools.
One year later, the development of a workstation and machine luminaire follows with the early UNILED SL series. At that time, no other LED luminaire with comparable light output and form factor exists on the market. It forms the foundation of today’s LED2WORK system luminaires and is now part of the equipment of globally renowned companies.
MECHALED, an LED magnetic-mounted light with a flexible gooseneck for workbenches, workstations and conventional machines, is launched on the market.
At this point, LED2WORK is one of the first providers worldwide to offer exclusively industrial-grade luminaires with LED technology.
From subsidiary to market leader
Driven by the needs of its own production, an automotive supplier based in Pforzheim develops durable and technically advanced LED machine luminaires and realizes that they can be offered at significantly lower prices than those of established market leaders.
To bring these luminaires to market, LED2WORK GmbH is founded and registered in the commercial register as a subsidiary of the automotive supplier.
